Grace was her name

Grace was her name —
Her dad liked the sound of it.
They meant to explain
But never got around to it.
They brought her up right,
As far as the world will ever know.
But did she get the word?
Has she ever heard?

God sent His Son
To die in her place.
He sent His Spirit
To soften her heart.
She’s learned a lot —
See what she’s got.
But will she ever know
Everything that goes
Into saving Grace?

So there she goes,
Unaware she’s incomplete.
It just goes to show:
Life’s the sum of all we see.
What if she knew
Of all the hope that waits for her?
But if nobody goes,
How could she ever know?

God sent His Son
To die in her place.
He sent His Spirit
To soften her heart.
She’s learned a lot —
See what she’s got.
But will she ever know
Everything that goes
Into saving Grace?

Two thousand years ago
Jesus came into the world to seek and to save.
He lived a life of poverty, rejection, and humility.
All His life He gave —
All for Grace.

God sent His Son
To die in her place.
He sent His Spirit
To soften her heart.
She’s earned a lot —
See what she’s got.
But will someone let her know
Everything that goes
Into saving Grace?

“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?
And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
